Abra­ham Do­lehof

The Abraham Dolehof is a little garden in the Utrecht city centre that forms part of the St Ursula convent.

History
The convent was founded in 1412 by the rich Utrecht merchant Abraham Dole. The garden and alleyway (Abraham Dolesteeg) next to the convent were named after him. The convent is largely gone now, but the quiet, lush courtyard still exists today, a hidden gem crammed with plants and flowers, right in the middle of the city.

All that is left of the original convent is the former chapel, which since 1745 has served as a Lutheran church and can be accessed via Hamburgersestraat 9.
