After the Neudeflat, dive straight into Utrecht’s history. Through an entrance at Ganzenmarkt, a tunnel leads to the Oudegracht wharves. In olden days, horse carts rode through this dark passage to the quay, where freight was loaded and unloaded with the city crane. Using an imaginative installation, sustainable artist Erik Groen has transformed the gloomy underpass into a shadow play with the past. Do you follow the light, or does it follow you?
Erik Groen studied physics, biology and philosophy in Utrecht. He fell in love with innovative thought and action, focusing on art and technology. In his work he explores sustainability and the relationship between mankind and the world.
