Light art and puzzle combined, REBUS has become a familiar sight among Utrecht residents and a mainstay of the city. Artist Korrie Besems created the 26-metre-long neon artwork for the large 1991 ‘Nachtregels-Night Lines’ exhibition. The composition stimulates and invites you to wrestle with the image puzzles. The rebus is for everyone. Rescued from demolition in 2017, it has since been refurbished and can again be admired in all its glory from the Stadsplateau starting in autumn 2021.
