De Rijnstroom boat rental
Rent a canoe or rowing boat from De Rijnstroom and paddle through the stunning Amelisweerd nature reserve. You can stop at the Rhijnauwen tearoom on the way for coffee and cake or a delicious pancake. Next door to the tearoom, you will find Castle Rhijnauwen, which houses a youth hostel nowadays.
Going for a row on the Utrecht canals is also an option, and will make for a memorable day out. You will pass stunning medieval canal houses, countless bridges and of course Utrecht’s iconic Dom Tower. Some of the characteristic wharves on the water are used as terraces, with many wharf cellars housing eateries.
Canoeing by night:
We offer the option to canoe at night under the full moon. Paddle through the canals at sunset while basking in the late-afternoon light and enjoying stunning views. Of course we will make a pit stop at one of the many cafes in Utrecht’s city centre. The canoe tour culminates in an atmospheric stretch that takes you underneath a range of dark and low bridges.
