Utrecht Science Park
At the edge of Utrecht you will find the Utrecht Science Park – the biggest knowledge hub in the Netherlands and an example of pioneering modern architecture.
The Utrecht Science Park is home to Utrecht University, the Botanic Gardens, University Medical Centre Utrecht and dozens of companies and leading research institutions.
Architecture
The first university buildings that stood in the Utrecht Science Park in the 1960s were simple wooden structures. The site now features several spectacular new buildings by well-known architects. For example, there is the award-winning Educatorium designed by Rem Koolhaas/OMA, as well as the Minnaert Building designed by Neutelings Riedijk Architects and the University Library designed by Wiel Arets Architects & Associates.
